Spring Has Sprung! Check Out These Events In Our Area!

With the weather warming up, spring events in this part of New Jersey are popping up, just like your garden. Here’s a sampling of what’s happening in spring, so you don’t miss anything exciting.

Girls’ Night Out! Downtown Haddonfield is a beautiful city!

Where: Downtown Haddonfield

When: April 26 from 5-9 pm

Cost: Free

This annual event has grown in popularity and now is your chance to participate if you haven’t already. While you probably already know that Downtown Haddonfield has plenty of interesting shops and gourmet restaurants, this event adds even more fun with live musical performances, refreshments, and in-store promotions.

Quite a few stores will be open until 9 pm, so you can shop until you drop. Among the highlights in different stores will be a tutorial from a professional makeup artist on personal beauty, chilled wine served, live models showing off the latest fashions, and more.

Wine Festival

Where: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia

When: May 3 from 6:30-9 pm

Cost: $30-$750

Philadelphia magazine is sponsoring this event, which will be a hit with casual and hardcore wine fans alike. It will be held at the Tork Club at Lincoln Financial Field, which is revered for its extreme luxury.

Enjoy over 500 samplings, including exclusive wines from locations around the globe. Modern cuisine from the best area restaurants will also be served, complementing the wine selection. Afterward, you can purchase your favorite wines from the tastings, at a Fine Wine & Good Spirits store.

Not only will you have a great time, but you’ll also be supporting a worthy cause. Proceeds will be contributed to Rebuild Wine Country, which is working with Habitat for Humanity.

Drive-in Movie

Where: Secaucus Recreation Center

When: May 4 from 7-9:30 pm

Cost: Free

Drive-ins used to be scattered all over but have disappeared in the past few decades. This is a unique opportunity to participate in one, and best of all the movie is free of charge. The Secaucus Recreation Center will be playing Coco, which was recently in theaters and received rave reviews. It’s a feature the whole family can enjoy, so gather everyone up and join in the fun.

Wildwoods International Kite Festival

Once it gets warmer, head to the marina for some spring events!

Where: Wildwoods Convention Center and the beach at Rio Grande Avenue

When: May 25 at noon to May 28

Cost: Free

If you want a chance to fly some kites and see amazing kites in action, this festival will be memorable. The local kite club will hold a social on Friday night, followed by an illuminated kite fly that will have everyone talking. On Saturday will be loud and silent auctions, while Saturday and Sunday will be filled with kite-flying demonstrations, family games, and more. On Monday the World Indoor Kite competition will take place inside the convention center, and it will be free to attend.

National Marina Day 

Where: Leonardo State Marina

When: June 9 from 8 am to 4 pm

Cost: Free

Grab your favorite pirate gear and come to this fun celebration! You can participate in the pirate parade, if you’re dressed up, with prizes awarded for different age groups. Peruse the flea market, take a boat out on the bay, and see the animals at the marina’s Nature Center.
